As a learning community, we have lost our way a bit: disrespect towards adults and peers, neglecting to follow through with assignment completion, lack of participation and engagement, questioning reasonable requests, support for inappropriate behaviours are a few of the issues. Tomorrow, we will spend the morning redefining our vision of our class.
Math: YAHOO!! Algebra tiles! We build expressions and equations with the tiles. Students solved for the unknown by isolating the variable while maintaining a balanced equation. New vocabulary: variable, expression, equation, isolating the variable, solving for the unknown.
Science: Worksheet: Needs of Living Things (related to salmon) should be done and has been assigned for homework for Friday. Textbook chapter review p. 17, question 1 to 7: characteristics of living things, living and non-living parts of an eco-system - will be completed Friday during class.
Reading: Chapter 5 - TRASH - double entry journal completed
P.E. time change to begin this Friday and will continue for the duration of the dance unit: Day 1 / block 1; no gym strip is needed for dance, however, proper footwear is necessary. This has been discussed.
